+Music: Samuel Orson

Hello everybody, looooong time no see! Sorry about that I’m new to managing more than one blog at the same time and as you can see I suck at it. Now going to the topic at hand:

Samuel Orson

Firstly, why am I writing about him? Well, you may not know but I’m a regular user at Reddit and saw a post made by an independent musician about how much music distribution platforms and streaming services paid for each song/album sold and song streamed, a post I recommend you to read if you’re interested in those topics. This same musician also gave some links to check out his work and that’s what I did.

But, who’s him?

Orson is a musician from Seattle, United States whose genre is folk and acoustic. Nothing much can be found about him so we’ll go directly to his music:

I thoroughly enjoyed both albums of him, album which you can enjoy here:

Hope you liked it as much as I did! And if you want, you can support him by buying his albums at his bandcamp site or streaming his songs on spotify.

August’s discoveries.

Hello! So in my blog in Spanish I post (it’s something new so I don’t have lots of entries about it) about a playlist I make in Spotify of songs that catched my attention in the month, I started this in July and only have July’s and August’s playlists and I’m going to share with you August’s.

This was the first time I listened to Lana’s National Anthem, I have heard about that song a lot of times before but I didn’t have the best ‘first impressions’ of Lana so I thought it would be really boring, in the  end I decided to give it a try and I absolutely loved it.

My highlighted songs are National Anthem, Bloodstream and Fever.

CFS and a mysterious playground in GameJolt.

Hello! Looking for some games to kill my boredom I stumbled upon these ones.

Captura de pantalla (137)

Robin is a extremely short game and it’s about the weekend of a woman with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. I don’t know anyone with CFS but I think that, even if the game is really short it gets the point it’s trying to make.

Through the Playground.

This one is a demo, it’s a point and click adventure about discovering mysteries, what mysteries? Who knows, haha I don’t want to spoil anything so I recommend you play it. Anyway, the art style of the game is incredible, really well done.

+Anime: Kiznaiver.

Leeet’s talk about Kiznaiver.

Title: キズナイーバー (Kiznaiver).

Episodes: 12.

Genres: Drama, Sci-fi.

Year: 2016.

Studio: Trigger.

Katsuhira Agata is a quiet and reserved teenage boy whose sense of pain has all but vanished. His friend, Chidori Takashiro, can only faintly remember the days before Katsuhira had undergone this profound change. Now, his muffled and complacent demeanor make Katsuhira a constant target for bullies, who exploit him for egregious sums of money. But their fists only just manage to make him blink, as even emotions are far from his grasp.

However, one day Katsuhira, Chidori, and four other teenagers are abducted and forced to join the Kizuna System as official “Kiznaivers.” Those taking part are connected through pain: if one member is injured, the others will feel an equal amount of agony. These individuals must become the lab rats and scapegoats of an incomplete system designed with world peace in mind. With their fates literally intertwined, the Kiznaivers must expose their true selves to each other, or risk failing much more than just the Kizuna System. (MAL)

So, I binge-watched Kiznaiver in 6 hours. I mean, 12 episodes are nothing but I usually take breaks when watching episodes but this anime was so good I had to watch it all.

I’m going to be as spoiler-free as I can in this review.

Starting with the story, albeit short 12 episodes felt enough for a story to start, develop, reach climax and resolution. The characters, oh, it’s really hard to flesh out characters, to make them feel ‘alive’ and kiz made it, they made mistakes and acted in ways humans would normally do; they were human characters that didn’t feel like typical ‘anime high schoolers‘, instead they were normal high schoolers. And my big point for it was the theme of friendship, it wasn’t a way to force the plot to end quickly or to just finish it without a reason, it was the center of the plot and they executed it really well.

I recommend it a lot, it won’t be time wasted.

Welcome to wordsofpaper!

Hello! I will write about anything that comes to my mind that I find cool and want to share so expect a mess and just things that don’t mix with others 😀
